2008 Food Biotechnology: A Study of US Consumer Trends Survey 2008 Food Biotechnology: A Study of US Consumer Trends Survey
2008 Food Biotechnology: A Study of US Consumer Trends Survey As Americans become more interested in how food is produced, they are inundated with information about which types of production methods are really better for the environment and their health. More Americans are becoming aware of sustainable food production, citing “growing more food to help feed the growing population” as the most important reason for growing crops in a sustainable manner. That’s just one of the findings from the International Food Information Council’s (IFIC) 2008 Food Biotechnology: A Study of US Consumer Trends Survey. IFIC has conducted this research since 1997 to track public awareness and perceptions of plant and animal biotechnology, determine confidence in the U.S. food supply, understand attitudes about food labeling, determine consumer opinions regarding potential benefits associated with biotechnology, and, as of 2007, uncover emerging opinions on sustainable food production.
